Banda Bacana
BOTANICAL Beats 5 is happening this weekend at Hendre Hall and this time there is a theme x-Lesotho!
Wales is twinned with Lesotho in Africa, and as the Botanic Garden, in Treborth is twinned with Katse Botanic Garden in Lesotho, it was decided to celebrate the link on Sunday, October 5.
Organisers are waiting to hear from the Prince of Lesotho who is currently in the UK and it is hoped he may be able to join the day
The music line-up so far includes Banda Bacana, Celtic Cowbois, Valeum, Heldinki, Wil Williams, Treborth House Band, Heglog, DJ Hippy Ads, Community Choir Bluebell, and there are more acts to be confirmed.
There will be music workshops by Replay, a cabaret stage, Botanical Beats The Movie, and activities for children will include face painting, games, art, music workshop, and circus skills.
Refreshments include soup and a roll served around 1pm, plus tea, coffee, juice and biscuits all day, and a Lesotho inspired curry from 5pm.
Displays including Fairtrade and Oxjam, green woodworking and dancing.
The day starts at 1pm and finishes around 7/8pm depending on how much fun everyone is having.
Look out for buses available from the Student Union on the day.
Admission is £5 on the door, children under-16 free, and any donations are welcome for the buses!
