DAWNS i Bawb, the umbrella organisation for community dance in North West Wales invite people to make a New Year’s resolution with a difference.
For those who have indulged rather too much over the festive holidays and the thought of the gym fills them with dread, dancing is a wonderful and safe way to get fit and burn calories.
The Dawns i Bawb salsa classes with tutors Bill and Gaynor Jones will be re-starting in Caernarfon Thursday, January 8, giving people of all ages and ability the chance to take part.
It is a chance to taste South American culture right on their doorstep, dancing to music which is a fusion of traditional African, Cuban and other Latin American rhythms.
Also starting in January at Thomas Telford Centre, Menai Bridge, is a new season of Capoeira classes Dawns i Bawb have held.
Capoeira was developed in Brazil as a martial art and was the original inspiration for break dancing.
Class One, beginners take place at Feed My Lambs, Caernarfon, on January 8, 7-8pm; Class Two, intermediate, Feed My Lambs, January 8, 8pm-9pm; Class Three, Rueda, Galeri, January 8, 7pm-8pm; Class Four, salsa advanced, Galeri, January 8pm-9pm.
