GCSE celebrations at Ysgol Eifionydd

A HUGE sigh of relief could be heard in Porthmadog this morning as pupils at Ysgol Eifionydd were given their GCSE results.

Headmaster Mr Richard Williams reported that the school was extremely pleased with the overall results.

He said: "We are happy for the pupils and the teachers who have all worked very hard, parents also deserve a mention for all their support.

Everyone did better than we expected and some pupils came out with some exceptional grades."

One pupil who falls into that bracket is Erin Sweeney from Penrhyndeudraeth.

She is no on her way to Coleg Meirion Dwyfor to study drama and music after she got two A*, five A's, four B's and one C.

She said: "I'm very chuffed – I didn't expect these grades."
