CARS in Caernarfon and Felinheli had their tyres slashed by vandals in a night of rampage.
At least 10 vehicles in total were targeted in two separate incidents which both took place during the early hours on the same night.
Police officers from both areas this week appealed for information to help them catch those responsible.
Local officers are also keeping an open mind on whether the two attacks could be linked – both locations are at separate ends of the Lon Las Menai cycle track.
In Felinheli six separate vehicles were hit, according to PC Jennifer Williams, and all of them were parked along Brynffynnon Road and Helen Terrace.
She said: "All had one or more tyres slashed and it is possible that this occurred at around 1am on Tuesday, August 19."
Caernarfon police community support officer Emily Quaeck revealed that four cars had their tyres slashed in the Waterloo Port/Menai Terrace area, on the banks of the Menai Strait – also during the early hours of that night.
The number of vehicles targeted in both incidents was a cause for concern and she urged anyone with information to step forward.
PCSO Quaeck said: "Unfortunately the area has no CCTV coverage so we have no footage to go on. We are conducting door to door enquiries but we would also urge any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. Any residents who may have seen someone acting suspiciously around parked cars should also give us a call."
Felinheli councillor Sian Gwenllian condemned the actions of those responsible.
She said: "I’m very concerned about the six tyres being slashed in Felinheli, even more so when I learnt that more had been slashed in Caernarfon.
"I know the police are looking into the incident and have distributed letters to homes in the village asking residents for any information and also to be on the look- out for any similar vandalism.
"It is a serious matter when a total of 10 cars get damaged like this, but we’re hopeful it’s just a one-off incident and won’t happen again."
Any witnesses or anyone with information on the Felinheli incident should contact PC 2256 Jennifer Williams on 0845 607 1001 (Welsh language line) or 0845 607 1002 (English).
