PWLLHELI 9-0 BANGOR 2NDS 81
NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION TWO
MATCH ABANDONED
HAVING bowled out Bangor for just 81 at Parc Bodegroes on Saturday Pwllheli had a great chance of victory, but unfortunately the rain ruined their hopes.
The predicted deluge finally arrived around 5pm, leaving the home side no time to chase the small target set by the visitors.
Earlier Pwllheli’s bowlers had shared the wickets in an excellent all-round display as Bangor crawled to their total.
However, the hosts’ reply was cut short after tea as water and then the seagulls filled the square.
With rivals Dolgellau winning at St Asaph, Pwllheli drop outside the promotion places to third and need two excellent performances, weather permitting, this coming weekend.
They travel to Ruthin on Saturday and entertain second-placed Dolgellau in possibly their most important game of the season on Bank Holiday Monday.
Pwll are now two points behind Dol and eight in arrears of leaders Bersham.
