Running: Eryri ladies take third place in UK event

THE last round of the British Mountain Running Championships near Penrith last weekend brought a good result for the seven competing Eryri Harriers ladies.

Over 80 females took part in the last counter for both the British and English Championship and fine runs by Jacky Lee (8th), Jenny Heming (12th) and Ruth Metcalf (23rd), backed by up Ali Thomas, Wendy Trimble, Maggie Oliver and Jenny Williamson saw them take third team prize on the day, securing a tremendous second place in the championship overall.

Eryri notched up 37 points behind winners Calder Valley but ahead of Bingley on 36.

Final individual placings: 8th Jacky Lee, 12th Andrea Roberts, 13th Jenny Heming.

Next race is this Saturday – the Elidir Fawr from Vaynol Arms, Nant Peris cat 2pm.
