There's no place for Doc Fictoria in Caernarfon

IT may surprise your correspondent I Owen that I am in agreement with most of the sentiments expressed in the letter “Listen to Cofis”.

I had objected most strongly to the Dock development at the outset, lobbying the politicians and planners from Caernarfon to Cardiff, but to no avail.

The residential development is totally out of place and a distraction from the World Heritage Site that is the Castle. However, it is there, and we have to live with it.

I do believe that the Celtica shop will be an added attraction to the town, pulling in the tourists who will obviously want to visit the castle and are bound to walk the town centre streets.

I am also convinced that the reshaped Maes will provide the safe and pleasant area for the public that I Owen is looking for, provided that it will not become the most expensively built car park in the UK. Looking forward to its completion.

HAVING studied the most recent nit-picking contribution from Stephen Williams (Herald, July 10), I have decided that “enough is enough” and I am terminating this exchange of letters now.

I hope that the exchanges have afforded some amusement to readers, and I thank the Editor for printing every word written by me. Diolch yn fawr iawn!

I am very disappointed that RO Morris has not been man enough to admit that his comment (Herald, June 12) regarding the origin of goods in Celtica was way off beam.
