Facts on social housing

THE pressure group Defend Council Housing seems to be working under the impression that council tenants can’t read.

All the Herald’s readers need to do, while waiting for the council’s offer document, is contact their local Welsh Assembly Member and ask for copies of the Assembly documents on housing transfer, or write to the Assembly’s housing department and ask for their list of documents on housing transfer and obtain those that they wish to read.

Assured periodic tenancies in Gwynedd Community Homes (GCH) have the same rights as the secure tenants of Gwynedd Council.

Rents are controlled by the Welsh Assembly and all social housing rents, like for like, in a county will be the same.
