CAERNARFON’S Black Boy Inn has received a top award for the quality of its pints.
The pub was presented with the prestigious Cask Marque award to acknowledge the excellence of its cask ales.
The award is jointly funded by brewers and retailers across the UK.
John Evans, who runs the pub, said: “We’re all extremely pleased to have won this award.
“We hope we can continue with the tradition and quality of service that we have been offering for the past 25 years.”
Pubs that join the scheme will be visited unannounced by an independent assessor twice a year.
In the first year they will be visited twice in the first three months and in subsequent years they will be visited once in the summer and once in the winter.
The assessor will check all cask ales on sale for quality with regards to temperature, appearance, aroma and taste.
